5 Tips To Have A Great Recital Experience!
Practice in front of others before the recital: Playing in front of a small audience, like parents, siblings or friends, can help calm nerves and build confidence. It's the best way to simulate what the recital will feel like!
Understand that mistakes happen: Even professional musicians make mistakes. What matters most is continuing with confidence. Smile, keep going, and remember that the audience is cheering you on!
Warm up briefly before the performance: We have warm up rooms available for students before the recitals. We recommend showing up 15-25 minutes early so that you have enough time to do a quick warm up and run through your piece.
Bring your sheet music: Even if you've memorized your piece, having you music with you can be a great safety net and relieve pressure.
Have fun: Remember that you are here to share your music with the audience and your family! You don't have to play perfectly for everyone to enjoy your performance. Enjoy the performance and be proud of all of the work that you put into it!
